Biography
Dr. Eric Rinehardt is board certified in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN) and the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). He is the chief neuropsychologist at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Carolinas HealthCare System where he provides neuropsychological assessment to individuals with a variety of brain-related diseases or syndromes. He is also the consulting neuropsychologist for the Carolinas Panthers and assists with the NFL's Concussion Protocol.
Dr. Rinehardt is active in research and national neuropsychological organizations. He is actively involved in clinical trials for Alzheimer's disease trying to identify treatments to improve cognition. He was the principal investigator of a grant awarded from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to facilitate a national prevention and recovery system for individuals with cognitive impairment. Dr. Rinehardt was the associate editor for the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) Bulletin and a member of the NAN Publications Committee. He is also an ad-hoc reviewer for several peer reviewed neuropsychology journals.
Before Dr. Rinehardt moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2013 he was an assistant professor at the University of South Florida's College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida where he was an active researcher, educator, and clinician (clinical and forensic).
